How long does it take to Master Animations

It's a lot easier talking than actually doing. And human beings, been who we are see errors too quickly and tend to always criticize. Well, if you find yourself in a forum and that have animators whether upcoming or pros and they hand it to you plain, then i think you are lucky and should stay in the forum. A lot of us dont like criticism and are always begging that it comes constructively if it comes at all. Well, maybe you are right, but criticism plays a part in forging you into whatever thing you want to be while the main onus whether you like it or not resides in you. people can say whatever they like or feel, and you cant be that daft not to know something that's totally false or wrong so as to evade falling into a ditch. But the thing is, how you handle criticism matters  alot. If Animation is what you want to do and you let mere talks put you down because you think you've put in so much time and you should be on some five or so levels away from where you are which at the moment aint happening and you think giving up animating is the next best choice then, animating was never something you should have ventured into in the first place.

Animations are different from constructions and other professions in that, take constructions for instance. A  client wants a house built, what does he do? He gets an architect to interpret his dream and pen it on paper so that the parties to the contract understands what exactly is expected of them and how the building should look like.Say something like the house on your left. Now everybody sees and understand this plus what ever method they implore will end up bringing out this buliding as a finished product unless there either are variations in the drawings or the contractors dont know what they are doing. And if the latter is the case, then the house might end up finally looking like some house poorly built in the ghetto.

Animations on the other hand has no particular approach because there are no dimensioned or specified drawings or procedures to achieving your aim. It's that bad to the extent that, if ten guys animate the same character in a ten seconds short, they'll all most likely achieve different results. Some might start with the hand, another with the pelvis, some with the legs and so on. And even if they all start with the pelvis which is where most actions actually do start from, they'll still end up getting different results because things like frames and poses will differ between individuals. Thus you cant get the same results. Everybody sees and perceives things differently. Some will fill up the animations with exaggerated squash and stretch and others just play with weights.

Animations isn't for quitters either and if you have a dream or at least can dream or imagine and you love animations then i'll advice that you stay put and work your way to the top. It wont happen in a day, and it takes a lot for it to ever happen at all but with some meaningful practice you'll get there. You'll watch a lot of movies and wonder how long it took these guys to get to the level they are animating awesome stuffs like these and i can bet you a lot of them have been on this like forever say at least three to five years. But of course, you could spend lesser time and animating really bad stuffs and never be good at it. It's your call.
